The Free Republics

The Free Republics is a intergalactic organisation of republics and peoples from across the universe. They form one of the Universes main powers, and are aligned with many smaller factions and banners.

The Free republics is governed by a union of representatives of the many republics and factions within it, at a meeting point on Menolesoto called the Grande Conference. This conference is presided over by Iroquois Pliskin, who is the de-facto ruler of the republics.

Leader of the Free Republics

IROQUOIS PLISKIN

Iroquois Pliskin, a battle hardened, and now bureaucratically adept leader of the Free Republics. He is the chair of the Grande Conference which is the overall democratic ruling body, and as such he will oversee the running of the conference, and break any deadlocks in the session.

Pliskin is a well respected veteran of war, and as such he brings his expertise but also his yearning for peace to the table of the conference. He has pushed for peace with the Gith for some time, causing outcry with the war wounded and those that suffered at the Giths hands.

It is rumored Iroquois fell in love with a Netheraánian called Alaris,  and that he is blessed with a long life because of this, however he will never publicly talk of his encounter. Altaris is said to have gone mad, and he was forced to kill her by his own hand.

Recently, Iroquois has been tasked with the reentry of Menosophia into the republics. He is yet to make his first visit there, and has kept quiet about when he plans to do so. It is after all, where his ancestors came from.

Territories

The Free Republics rule over a vast area of the astral plane, with a core central civilization ruling from the five “Worlds of Amber”, each culminating with the prefix ‘Meno’ which etymology consists from the words “The Men of”.

One of the five worlds disappeared some 18,000 years ago. Thought destroyed – the Republics underwent a shift, to become a protectorate to all those that answer the call, since that time the republics have expanded vastly into regions once known to be neutral.

The Kingdoms of Moden, on their homeworld of Baral Moden are the most recent entrants to the Free Republics, followed closely by the Elven clans of Galidoor, and those of the ice flats on Hoth.

Diplomacy

Neutral

The Netheraán

Although they demand pay in resources for the Republics use of the Netherwalk for travel, they come in peace – and they in return have granted The Free Republics passage through their astral sector. The Free Republics has much to learn from them, and as such will maintain peace.

Neutral

Gith Empire

The Free Republics has historically fought with the Gith, but in recent years has started to accept more and more refugees fleeing the conflict with Dawnika. As such, they have a moderate pact in place, although to keep the peace with Dawnika, they do not fight with them. This is the source of much disagreement in the Grande Conference.

Unfriendly

Dawnikan Empire

The Free Republics has a shaky pact of non aggression with Dawnika due to their military superiority over them, but have historically been the voice against Dawnikan Aggression.
